Rainbow over the Invalides

February 11th, 2007

Photos of Paris - Spirit of Paris

Dark sky and rainbows are common in Paris, in february or march. It means that spring will be back soon.
Here is one above the Invalides, the place where Napoleon Bonaparte is buried.

What a wonderful shot! I really like the lighting - the brightness over Invalides, extending to the rainbow - then the right edge of the rainbow being the border for a darker sky. Excellent composition!

Bonjour, Michel. This photo is lovely. I’m trying to figure out where you were standing when you shot it. I’m going to guess that you were on l’Arc de Triomphe, though I can’t see la Tour Montparnasse in the grey sky.

Looking forward to seeing Paris again.
