Orsay’s clockwork

On the top of the Musee d’Orsay, there is a cafe behind this giant clockwork. Don’t forget Orsay was a railwail station before to become a museum. After a drink you can get out, turn left and then discover the most famous painting of the 19th century. I mean the impressionist. By the exit, there is another clockwork, same as the first one. You can see Paris through the glass of the face. |

Michel: The clock cafe in le Musee d’Orsay is one of my favorite places. I typically go outside to look over Paris as part of the lunch break. Then, of course, Manet, Morisot, Monet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Degas, Fantin Latour, Whistler, Caillebotte, …
I also love your photo of the stairs in the fog. Is this in Montmarte?
I hope to make it to Paris for a few days this year, either April or August, trying to avoid the most expensive season of summer. I plan on a history walk of le Quartier Latin avec mon ami, Michel. C’est possible?

As usual, Michel, you continue to be my favorite “eye on Paris.”
Your images always present a mixture of the familiar with the obscure, and always with vivid color, quality, and an interesting anecdote.
There’s an empty place in my heart that only Paris can fill, and anytime I feel a deep longing to walk the streets of my favorite city, I am comforted knowing that you are there to graciously act as a wonderful virtual host.
Merci beaucoup!
