One of those rainy, misty, freezy night spending a few hours carrying the camera bag and this heavy tripod with frozen fingers. And then, as a surprise, a nice shot coming from the memory card.

    I love this photo and I think I have a daytime photo of the same stair. A classic Montmarte location.

    Greetings from St. Paul, MN! Lovely shot, as all of yours are. It creates a certain mood, and it certainly is a classic spot in Paris.

    What a superbe shot! A classic, indeed. This reminds me of a shot by Brassai, of the same location, only he shot it in the morning, looking down, sometime in 1936. Fortunately, some areas of Paris have not changed one bit. Thanks for posting your photographic treasures, Michael, and best wishes to you and yours for the new year.

    i had a post card photo same stairs, it is my picture to Montmartre.
    many years later i went to there, to accomplish my dream.

    I agree with Jerry. Each photograph is little gift of Paris wrapped up with care and opened up by the receiver with joy and delight.
