Fact is that I have a French soul. Of that I am sure. We love France and Paris. Music, fashion, food, you name it, France has it all for us. It isn't a great musical piece but it does have its charm. I believe that the "true" born-and-raised there Parisians are very proud of their town. My mother, for instance, is a "true Parisian" in that sense. Once, I asked her how many songs she thought there might be about Paris and she replied without hesitation "oh, des millions!" Not a few hundreds, not a few thousands, but ... millions! I am surprised this song was written in 1951. I always thought the lyrics were much older than that, for some reason. They're timeless.
