Stone faces in Catacombs.
January 22nd, 2006
A few meters beneath the ground of Paris there are old quarries of limestone. The galleries have now become one of the main attractions of young Parisians, known as the “cataphiles” in French or the one who loves the catacombs.
Some just visit, some destroy tagging all the wall. Other can produce some “real underground art”. These faces have been made with clay on the wall of an old stone extraction workshop, under the University of Pharmacy, nearby the Jardin du Luxembourg.
They seem to get off the stone, leaving the world of darkness for a ray of light.
Brrrrrr.
